February 2012

Each month, EAA Chapter 723 offers free flights to youth, our Young Eagles ages 8 through 17, weather permitting. Reservations for the flights can be made by phone with the Young Eagle coordinator, Neal Fowler. He takes reservations the week preceding the first Saturday of the month. Neal can be reached at 805-647-6994.

In Camarillo, flights take place from the EAA Hangar Area just off Aviation Way at Camarillo Airport on the first Saturday of the month. Look for signs; it's next to Commemorative Air Force, CAF Museum, and near the Animal Shelter. Please park on the street, Aviation Way. DO NOT PARK in the CAF Parking Lot.

In Santa Paula, flights are from Santa Paula Airport and take place on the first Sunday of each month. Look for signs.

Looking forward to seeing all you prospective Young Eagles. And don't forget the Camarillo Air Show, Aug. 18-19, 2012.

The number of Young Eagles safely flown by members of Camarillo's EAA Chapter 723 to date is 3,939. This is a tremendous accomplishment as the experience of flight is a thrill never to be forgotten.  The most amazing statistic is at the bottom.  There have been 388 pilots who were once young eagles.  That is approximately 7 percent which is an amazing statistic.
