2011 Scholarship Application Instructions

  1. Complete the following Application Form. Print clearly or type.
  2. Provide an official copy of your school transcript.
  3. Provide two (2) letters of recommendation. One from a current instructor or faculty member or coach who can attest to your achievements, promise, character and promise. The writer must sign the letter and indicate their title or relationship to applicant. The letter must be dated and not older than 6 months.
  4. Write an essay of 1,000 words or less as to why you should be selected for the scholarship. Briefly describe yourself and your plans and hopes for the future. Indicate in a closing paragraph your interest and activities in aviation or a related activity.
  5. Double check that you have met all the eligibility requirements.
  6. Clip all items and mail or deliver in one envelope. Do not have letters or transcripts sent directly to EAA Chapter 723. They must be included in your packet.
  7. Applications must be received by May 1, 2011.
  8. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

This scholarship may be tax-free to the recipient if:

 

1.) He or she is a candidate for a degree at an eligible educational institution; and 

2.) Uses the scholarship funds to pay for qualified educational expenses such as tuition and fees, course-related books, supplies and equipment. Room and board, travel and non-required equipment are generally not considered qualified educational expenses.
